Do you re-size rings? We do indeed offer a re-sizing service, and will do our utmost to accommodate your re-sizing request. The other option is to make your purchase and proceed with re-sizing with your local jeweler, which can be more accurate with in-person sizing. The figures below are a rough guide only - the price will be dependent on the individual ring. This is because our goldsmith will need to assess the amount of work to be done and quantity of materials to be used (e.g. adding in gold) in relation to the size you would like the ring changed to, and this will vary depending on a few things e.g. the thickness of the band, or intricacy with stones to the shank. Please note we are unable to accept cancellations or returns for re-sized orders. Each ring also has limits as to how much it can be increased or decreased in size by without affecting the integrity of the ring - as a very rough guide most plain bands will allow 3 sizes up or down, however if a ring has stones this drops to around 2 sizes up or down, and if the ring has stones on the shank this again drops to around 1 size up or down. This does of course depend on the individual ring, so these limits could be higher or lower - so please don’t hesitate to get in touch to enquire. We do not currently resize full eternity rings or engraved bands. In general, re-sizing takes up to 10 working days, and more often than not it is available beforehand - we will always let you know when your ring is on its way to you. Will my purchase come gift wrapped?Absolutely - your piece will be lovingly gift wrapped! It will arrive in our vintage style velvet lined jewellery box, placed inside a small protective cardboard sleeve, with a ribbon bow tied around. It will then be popped into a protective postal cardboard box, and discreetly marked, so that special someone won’t realise what has arrived!
-
Why are your rings so reasonably priced? We keep our running costs low by having an online only store, and each piece is assessed and priced accordingly based on its quality in relation to its age and condition.
-
How do you categorise the condition of the rings? All of our pieces are either vintage or antique, and as such will usually show some signs of wear and previous life – part of what makes vintage and antique pieces so unique and characterful. We have devised an easy to understand condition guide:- "Like new": these pieces will be pristine and will show no signs of wear. “Excellent”: commensurate with age, these pieces will show only very light signs of wear e.g. a slightly rubbed setting. "Very good”: commensurate with age, these pieces will show some visible wear and imperfection e.g. a band beginning to discolour or scratched gemstone. "Good”: commensurate with age, these pieces will show visible wear and often multiple flaws e.g. this could include a thinning band or chipped gemstone. All of our pieces are suitable to wear & be enjoyed during their new lease of life!

How should I care for my ring?Fine jewelry is delicate and wearing it all day everyday can take its toll, so we would recommend removing it when doing the washing up or applying face cream for example to avoid getting it grubby. To keep it extra clean and sparkly you can easily mix together warm water and a touch of washing up liquid and rub gently with a soft toothbrush to remove everyday grubbiness, and you’ll notice a real difference from such a simple trick! We also recommend giving your piece a once over every couple of weeks so check for potentially loosened stones from knocks and bumps.
